Tasting notes:
The Longbeach Pinotage is an appealing ruby red colour. The nose is a lovely mix of succulent dark fruit with plums, cherry and lighter strawberry and a touch of distinct banana.
The palate is very well balanced, showing great depth of fruit flavour, rich black cherry, cassis, plum and mature strawberries all countered with crisp acidity. There is a touch of black spice and dark chocolate on the finish.
About the wine:
The Longbeach Pinotage grapes come a selection of vineyards in the Western Cape wine region. After harvest, the grapes undergo malolactic fermentation in temperature controlled stainless steel vats before a short period maturing in wood to add weight and complexity.
