Tasting notes:
Brilliant garnet colour, plum, wild blueberry, cinnamon and liquorice delight the nose. Gentle on the palate with elegantly fused tannins.
About the wine:
The name 4 Vignes refers to the nebbiolo grapes origins from 4 different vineyards sites: Croera, Ravera, Preda, Silio.
The grapes are sent to a drying room for 12 hours to remove excess moisture before being gently crushed to avoid the stalks tainting the must. Fermented at 28 ° C with continuous but delicate pumping over. The Marc is macerated for 300 hours before malolactic fermentation in wooden barrels.
The wine is aged for 30 months in French oak barrels, none of which are new.
About the producer:
Cascian Adelaide is a small 7 hectare estate in Barolo, owned and run by Amabile Drocco since 1999. With vineyards in some of the best sites, including Preda and Cannubi, the potential of the estate was never in doubt, but with reduced yields, improved viticulture and some replanting, Cascina Adelaide is now able to produce very impressive fruit quality. The chief oenologist at Cascina Adelaide Molino is able to transform the grapes into a range of stunning wines of complexity, depth and elegance.
