Tasting notes:
The wine has a pale pink color and a delicate aroma with notes of red berries, citrus, and floral notes. On the palate, it is light-bodied with a refreshing acidity and a long and crisp finish. The wine has a great balance of fruitiness and minerality,
About the wine:
Saint Max comes from a careful selection of vineyards located in the inner valley of Cuers on the foothills of the Massif des Maures as well as in the high country of Arc sur Argens at the foot of this great forest massif. The natural beauty of these landscapes and the wild character of these sites offers a unique experience of immersion into the heart of Provence. Cuers area benefits from the influence of the Mediterranean Sea as well as the continental influences of the interior of the land which confers saline and mineral virtues to our wine. In addition, the high country of Arc benefits from a cooler climate which brings this touch of brightness and vigor to Saint MAX.
Grapes are carefully harvested and gently pressed before going a short period of maceration to allow the delicate pink colours and red berry flavours to develop.
About the producer:
Saint Max rsoé is produced by Château Mont-Redon. Established in 1344, is one of the oldest wine-producing Estates in France and the largest single property in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The Estate includes 100 hectares of the most perfectly-sited vineyards in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, spread over the region’s three main soil types: the western limestone slopes, sand and galet stones on the plateau. The wines are elegant, widely-loved examples of Châteauneuf that age well. Now, with joint owner and winemaker Pierre Fabre directing the estate, the Château's wines are poised for great critical acclaim, too, whilst retaining their innate drinkability. Pierre's new cuvée, Le Plateau, is emblematic of the quality Mont-Redon are now producing - a strict selection of prime fruit from Châteauneuf's plateau, amounting to an 850 case production that will only be bottled separately in the best years.
