Tasting Notes:
A haunting honeysuckle and apricot aroma and rich, almost unctuous palate that is somehow still dry, tangy and refreshing.
About the wine:
Produced from older vines, lessening yield but increasing complexity, acidity and quality.
The very aromatic Viognier produces its aromas at a certain stage of maturation. The winemaker’s team follows the process by tasting the grapes in August, in order to choose the right day to harvest. Once harvested, the grapes undergo a short skin-contact maceration. Then, the juice, collected after a delicate pressing and meticulous off-settling, ferments at low temperature. There is no oak ageing.
About the producer:
Mont Rocher wines are carefully chosen from small parcels of vines in the south of France with the emphasis on producing wines showing the true character of the terroir and style indigenous grape varieties.
Food match:
The viognier will show really well with creamy pasta dishes, shellfish fish dishes. Alternatively, try this with a good cheese board. Yummy.
This wine is suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
