Tasting notes:
Aromas of ripe citrus fruit crushed flowers and underlying minerality give way to a fresh, crisp palate of lemon zest, fresh lime, stone fruits and notes of flint soil. A touch of the distinctive salinity pervades throughout.
About the wine:
The vines are grown in vineyards, supported on granite posts made by hewers. This is done in order to separate the stocks from the ground, thus protecting them from humidity and excessive vegetation.
Cultivation of the vines in vineyards also favours their exposure to the sun and facilitates wine harvesting tasks and maintenance
Grapes are picked in the cool early morning and fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve the floral nuances of the grape variety.
The winery has a policy of using minimal intervention to ensure the wine represents it's terroir and reflects a true sense of place.
About the producer:
Bouza do Rei winery was founded in 1984 - four years before the local Rías Baixas appellation was introduced. As such, it was a driving force in the development of the modern style of zingy, richly flavoured whites made from the local Albariño grape variety, which thrives in this cool coastal region in north-west Spain.
Food Match:
This Albarino is the perfect match for mixed seafoods and shellfish.
This wine is suitable for vegans and vegetarians.
