Tasting notes:
White gold colour with green tints. A basketful of expressive and mature citrus fruits on the nose backed by ginger and sweet fennel notes. On the mouth, it’s full, juicy, with a peach stone hint and passion fruit. It is both soft and crisp with crystallised pineapple and cinnamon on the finish.
About the wine:
The grapes are handpicked from 11 hectares of vineyards with a soil makeup of mixed gravel soil with sand and small stones resting upon a subsoil of oceanic limestone.
The grapes undergo a gentle pressing with controlled thresholds, followed by precise cold settling. The must is cold stabilised for between 1 and 7 days. Fermentation is in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats with regular lees stirring followed by racking.
The wine is aged on the lees for 6 months in stainless-steel vats
About the producer:
Chateau de Cerons is an 18th century manor house built on a terrace overlooking the Garonne river.
Xavier and Caroline Perromat took over management of the family estate in 2012. The estate has 26 hectares of vines on a plateau of deep gravel soil overlooking the surrounding area.
